I need to plug in my Slingbox to my new Verizon FiOS, however, my TV and Verizon router are like 30 feet apart, however, my TV is near to my Verizon ONT - can I just plug a second router into the ONT and then plug my Slingbox into that newly installed, second router?

I doubt it, but check with Verizon on this. The preferred scheme would be to use a router, with an internet cable of suitable length.
