Can you still watch TV at home with Slingbox while someone else watches on the laptop somewhere else?
Question by PhD from my dog: Can you still watch TV at home with Slingbox while someone else watches on the laptop somewhere else?
If i get a slingbox will my family at home be able to watch their satelite TV while i also watch TV from somewhere else?

I had the same question and I asked the company who makes them. Let me give you an example. If the slingbox is at home (California) and I'm in Chicago and wife in New York, both of us can't use our laptop to watch different channels at the same time. Only one person can do it. If say I'm in Chicago and wife is home in California, we'll be watching the same channel anyway.

No you can’t.
Your slingbox connects to your receiver. The only way you can watch different programs than people at home is if you have 2 receivers at home. One for those at home who want to watch tv, and the other one for your slingbox.
