Is there an adapter for digital audio (orange) to RCA (yellow & white)?

Question by pandera: Is there an adapter for digital audio (orange) to RCA (yellow & white)?
My cable box has only component or digital audio out (orange RCA style and the black square kind), but my Slingbox AV has only RCA or S Video in. There is an S video out on the cable box, so I've got the video working but is it possible to get the audio (red/white) connected to the digital audio with an adapter or something? I don't care about the quality as I am only going to be watching it in a small window on a computer.

There is NO way your cable box does not have analog audio out.
It uses the SAME audio out whether you use component, or composite, or s-video.

(the only way to go from digital audio to analog stereo audio is through an AV receiver).

  1. Does it have five outputs under the component out? if so two of these are the audio outputs (component video is outputed by only three channels, red green and blue RGB, the other red and white ones are purely for left and right audio).

Failing this idk it seems pretty weird if it outputed audio only via digital and didnt provide rca outs.

  2. Look again … there is a normal RCA analog sound output there somewhere. It may be a single or double RCA jack but there is NO WAY there is only digital output.

That said, you can convert digital to analog via a converter (See link), but I expect you would find it expensive for your purposes.
