  1. Good think HDCP encryption was cracked this week, no?

ATTENTION HOLLYWOOD: Fair Use is *our legal right* (see Sony v Universal; “The Betamax Case”. We will not permit you to deprive us of it, just because you want to make Even More Money.

The Internet interprets censorship — and Malignant Customer Control Techniques — as damage, and routes around them.

  2. I do the easy thing and just don’t own a TV, there’s nothing on and news on TV is all oversimplified partisan infotainment anyway.

  3. I prefer to use the TPB input, myself.

  4. It’s not like this crap would not be cracked. It would NOT hinder piracy in any way.

  5. @layinlow64 And that gives them the right to control our A/V equipment… how?

  6. I hardly think that Yahtzee was the _originator_ of intarwebs humor or l33t5p3a|<. I recognize, among other things, various references to the styles generally thought to originate with the lolcats and somethingawful communities. There are no stick figures or pointy-eared aliens. But I’m glad to see that you’re concerned with SOC!

  7. the mpaa owns their movies and how the content is distributed

  8. Hey Public Knowledge guys, record your audio in a room with less background noise! kthnxbye.

  9. Ahhh MPAA, when will you learn.
Consumers like convenience. We also really REALLY hate DRM. Why do you think more and more of us are going online to get our movie fix? (Oh that’s right, it’s because we’re all a bunch of filthy freeloaders isn’t it).
So instead of listening and adapting, what do you do? Come up with new ways of punishing the slowly but surely shrinking audience still supporting your old way of doing business.
Bravo. You guys should give yourselves an Oscar for a change.

  10. Is this the work of The Escapist and Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw? Or is this just someone ripping off that style? Oh and the MPAA is wrong. I’ll file a compliant with the FCC.

  11. it already starting here. i dont even have tv anymore, i rent dvds mostly.

  12. cox already requires digital to get on demand movies. I can’t get them because i’m not running out an buying a new tv (the computer has better stuff anyway).

    frexis.*com/PCTV1.html

  15. You have got to be kidding me. This is complete crap, and the FCC better not let this happen … otherwise you can bet that there will be an outrage.

  16. Now can u connect the phone to a tv for video out cause I can’t get my I phone 3GS to work on my tv

  17. How do you get it in fullscreen?

  18. App is 30.00…..

  19. @kupkrazee obviously you should have read my comment. first it’s 4 months old.i know that you need a box. some might not so he should say that and i was commenting on the reviews they were recieving at the time. to choose carefully and make sure they are getting the best one they can. not that it’s not a good product because it’s awesome as long they support it :)

  20. @eturnald right when implied you didn’t know you needed the slingplayer box for this is where i stopped reading what you wrote because it’s obvious you don’t understand what slingbox is? of course you need the slingbox itself.

  21. @RomeoValentino how much total did u spend on it? the app, plus the box? anything else you bought? how does it work anyways? do you have to be close to the box? meaning, do you have to be in the house? or can you be anywhere?

  22. @bullpuckee lololol

  23. @14tripin It’s more stable fool

  24. I would like a link for the stand. The kickstand is cool, but you if are pushing on the phone like he is doing in the video you would have to hold the phone to prevent it from moving.

Send the link MisterSling. ;-) )

  25. @14tripin because your mom hoards her vagina out to teenage boys for 10 dollars a pop.

  35. is this a monthly payment thing? if not, I’ll be getting this as soon as i get the phone!!

  36. @besnik10305 you have to dowlnload form “Market” it costs $29.99.

  37. @guicapone2 “why would u recommend the iphone to your mother? Cuz its a product which surpasses any other phone in the market in term of REALIBILITY!!”

tell that to Consumer Reports moron. Typical iPhag rambling on about how much his iPhail gadgetry surpasses all others. PUT A BUMPER ON IT!!!!!!

  38. I just got motorola droid x.There is no slingplayer mobile app on this device. Help please!

  39. @bippi79 Thanks, I found the problem. Mine is a little different since the slingbox is built into my Dish receiver. The widescreen on the phone will not work unless my TV is turned off. I believe this is due to if the TV is on, it’s sending the only HD signal/source to it instead and not the phone. Something like that.
