Wow, as simple as it looks, I'm pretty sure it's custom done. Or certainly it's 2 fonts. Hm, that could explain it - you wouldn't see many fonts with that open space in the g but no open space in the b. Also, you'll rarely see a "techno" font like that with a normal looking x.
"sling" definitely looks like Bauhaus http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/adobe/itc-bauhaus/ while "box" is nothing like it.
Here's a free font SF New Republic off dafont.com that looks a lot like "box" (though I think there are a lot of fonts that look like that) http://www.dafont.com/sf-new-republic.font?nb_ppp=50&af=on&text=slingbox
EDIT: I just found Bimini Normal for someone else's question, and it looks an awful lot like the sling part of the logo and it's free http://www.newfonts.net/index.php?pa=show_font&id=33

Seesmic du Jour 153: The real Dave Mathews
A few days ago my friend Dave Mathews came into the office and told me about his new project Boxee. Dave is probably most well known for the Slingbox, he definitely knows what he's talking about. Check it out. Don't worry, my neck is ok now.

Here's my gaming setup. As you can see, I have a PS3, PS2, PS1, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii. I also have the Slingbox Pro HD and my custom built PC with 2 Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS cards on it. I also have a PSP and a Nintendo DS but it's on on my computer desk at that time I was recording this video.

Q&A: Opinions on Slingbox?
Question by SFTiVoFan: Opinions on Slingbox?
I am thinking about getting a SlingBox for Christmas to distribute video from my TiVo to computers over the net. Anybody have one? What do you think of the video quality? Does it work well over wirelesss?

Answer by K
I bought the slingbox when it first came out and then took it back. The video quality was quite good, but there are a few limitations that I found:
1. It was a hassle to set up...I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get this thing to broadcast outside my home network. My Vonage router was screwing it up. My experience may have been fairly unique, but it was frustrating.
2. The slingbox connects to your gateway via a wired ethernet connection. If your home theater isn't near your router, you'll need to buy one of these: http://www.slingmedia.com/slinglink/
3. You need to put software on your client PC in order to view the video. Not a big deal, but it would be really cool if you could do it all via the internet. They didn't have a windows mobile client which prevented me from accessing the video on my smartphone...again, that may not matter to you.
4. When you control the TiVo remotely, it obviously impacts what is playing in your living room. If you have a spouse or roommate at home, you end up in a long-distance game of remote tug of war.
In summary, it's a cool product that is great if you say want to access your TiVo from the road. You might check out www.orb.com for a similar, pc-based product.

SlingBox Rogers PVR Box and IPhone. Does it all work?
Question by Dekker: SlingBox Rogers PVR Box and IPhone. Does it all work?
Hey was wondering if anyone has any slingbox device hooked up to their Rogers PVR Digital Cable Box (SA Explorer 8300HD). Was curious to know if Rogers is compatible with Slingbox and if anyone has a up and running system.
I also wanted to go as far as to ask if anyone has a Slingbox working with SlingPlayer on their IPhone? Again this is for rogers customers who have Rogers HD PVR box hooked up with their Slingbox.

From this page:

you can check if your set-top box is compatible. By that they mean does the Slingbox have remote control codes for your model. Looks like they DO have yours so you're in luck.
I have the mobile client on my Blackberry and it works like a charm. The only problem is seeing the menus and stuff on the little screen. But once you find what you wanna watch it's great! You can do audio only if you want -- like if you're driving or something. Don't know anyone with the iPhone client but I would bet it works as good as the Blackberry.
