Every time that I insert the installation cd into my macbook, it will not open it. Is there a way to instal the slingbox onto my macbook? or is this just another example of macbook being @$$ backwards with everything and it is not compatible yet?

Sounds like you're @$$ backwards.
Download the .dmg from their website.
