Q&A: slinglink or powerline adapter?
Question by adrian: slinglink or powerline adapter?
I'm thinking about getting a slingbox AV and i know that i have to connect a router to it and my router is in another room in my house. so, i have 3 questions:
1. do i have to buy the slinglink so that i could connect my router to the slingbox?
2. if i do need the slinglink, do i have to buy 2 of them?
3. can i use a powerline ethernet adapter instead of the slinglink?
Help please!

The Slinglink is pretty much a powerline ethernet adapter, so it may be worth trying a generic one if you don't want to buy theirs.
I've got friends who have had luck using a 802.11g wireless bridge (available from Linksys and others) to connect to a wireless router - maybe that's an option for you.
Given the two choices, I'd try the wireless option first. I think that's more likely to be reliable.
