slingbox question? would this work?
i was thinking about the sling box and i had a wonderful idea. My parents have digital cable. follow me here and tell me if this would work.
i buy a slingbox for their tv and hook it up at their house. i then sync it or whatever, with my computer. When i move, i will use my computer to watch cable and i wount have to pay for it myself. would this work? its brilliant if it does.
I could even hook my computer up to a tv and watch it seemlessly right??

High quality requires a good bit of bandwidth and would be dependent on your parents’ upload speed.
You will actually be using the tuner in the digital cable box so your parents wouldn’t be able to watch digital cable.
You could split the basic cable line coming in and use the tuner inside the slingbox.
Slingbox doesn’t need to be near a TV. Your parents could add a digital cable box and you could pay the fee for the box only and put it in a dark room near the network connection.
