Slingin’ Apple TV

In the Sling Media labs, we connected a Slingbox PRO to an Apple TV to placeshift iTunes audio and video to a Motorola Q and a Windows laptop. Sweet!
Video Rating: 3 / 5
Watching at&t U-verse TV on an at&t Tilt through my Slingbox.

@ 3:28 that’s a shitload of cables haha ^_^
I’m debating whether or not to get a mac-mini (doubling as a DVR) and just sling that and cable tv to my iphone or get an Apple TV and sling it with my tv. Problem is with AppTV you have to have a computer always on and running
although it would be sweet to have virtually any tv show or movie wherever you go (think a/v cables, friends house) The quality didn’t look that great for your Q, I wonder how it would look on wifi on an iPhone 3G however.

thats so slow on the phone

You should mount on a tripod and get closes up of the Q screen and do a split screen so people can see that what’s happening on the big screen also … and you should start at the beginning and if you have to – show still shots of the connectors, having a guy walk around shaking a cheap camera and incorrect lighting reflects poorly on Slingbox – like you’re just 3 guys in a dorm room – clearly not the case. You really, really have to redo this.

Great Info and not to be rude but pretty ineptly shot video. All the voiceover stuff makes sense & is nice and I’m not dissing the setup or Slingbox – both brilliant and must owns but you have to gind a real videographer – the camera work and the videography is pretty low level.

I was lucky to get the real unlimited plan with unlimited tethering and 1500 SMS for $44.99/mo two years ago. at&t’s data plan that includes tethering kind of sucks now with the 5GB cap – although I’ve never used more than 4GB in a month.
