Play Xbox360 from remote location through computer?
Question by St Johnny: Play Xbox360 from remote location through computer?
Here's the setup.
My xbox is at home.
I am a few hours away at school.
The question:
is there any way to remotely connect to my xbox, much like a VNC, to be able to play it from school, through my computer with another controller, while it is at home turned on and connected to the interent?
I figured someone would have figured how to hack this by now.
but searching around all i could find is how to connect the xbox to your computer monitor and how to use a controller on your computer...
and emulators. which is not at all what i am talking about.
think of it like slingbox. but instead of controlling your directv or whatever, your controlling your xbox. not just playing movies and music but actually playing the game in the disk drive.
links are preferred.
thanks.

It may be technically possible, but there'd be too much lag for it to be playable.

How can I record the Superbowl 2010 onto a blank DVD from my computer?
Question by Nicole Brown: How can I record the Superbowl 2010 onto a blank DVD from my computer?
I live in Ukraine, even though I'm American, and two of my friends need the superbowl onto a DVD because they can't get it. I can't record it onto a DVD from my TV because I don't have a DVD player that can record and burn it onto a disc. I was wondering if anyone knew of a site that I could go to that will let me burn it onto a disc.Or I also have SlingPlayer. If anyone knows how to put a recorded show from SlingPlayer (SlingBox?) onto a DVD, that would be helpful too.
Cheers!

Watch it on TV in the computer with a TV tuner. Record it to your hard drive. Then use something like DVDFlick to convert it and burn the DVD. (You'll probably need a different program, because DVDFlick most likely will convert to a format the TVs there can't play - you probably use PAL. If they want to watch on computers, just burn what you record to the DVD.)

Q&A: How to Record music from satellite TV to MP3 on my computer?
Question by luckyone_27105: How to Record music from satellite TV to MP3 on my computer?
I usually do not have problems with basic electronic stuff but this one has got my head spinning. I want to use some of the music programs on TV to record mp3's on my computer. Inexpensive would be a big plus.
RCA to USB cable? TV tuner? TV converter? Slingbox or a slingbox competitor? What do I do? And yes, all these are available, they just don't explain how to use them in layman's terms
OOPS!
I want to record in stereo and not sure why a mic in would do that.
Current configuration is Satellite TV provider, minimum broadband, and a decent entry level PC.

Hello,
In order to record TV audio from your Satellite, I have written the following steps to help you:
You will need:
1) Make sure your tv is on, and connect a jack lead from your Headphone socket on your TV, into your PC's Mic Socket.
2)You need to use sound recording software such as "Sound Recorder" on XP or you can use different software and press record
3) That's it, It will save it as an MP3 or WAV and there you have it!

watching tv on the computer?
Question by Keegan Leach: watching tv on the computer?
Does anyone know how i can watch tv on my computer from dish network without the slingbox?

Answer by Mary catherine Brady
Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. Currently, the only way to stream Dish Network Live TV to a computer or mobile device, is with the Sling box. It is only compatible with VIP722 & VIP722k receivers at this time. The sling technology is built into the VIP922 receiver. I hope this answers your question! Happy New Year!

Can I stream content from my computer to my TV?
Question by samfishx: Can I stream content from my computer to my TV?
I know that Apple is releasing the AppleTV sometimes next month, but as far as I know, it runs off Quicktime/iTunes...which means that there is no (easy) way to switch language tracks.
I have a lot of movies and TV shows on my computer (I'm running OS X) and I'd love to be able to watch them on my TV, rather than on my monitor.
I'm also not interested in something like Windows Media Center PCs, as that is too complicated for what I want to do. I'm looking for something simple and requires minimal effort to access.
I've seen things like Slingbox but, near as I can tell, that does the opposite of what I want.
Aside from AppleTV, are there any devices out there that enable me to send media from my computer's hard drive to be viewed on my screen?

I do this with my Tivo. Probably not what you are looking for.............. I copy all the DVDs I get via Netflix to my PC so I can watch them whenever. I use the Tivo menu to access my harddrive to play the movies.
I also do this with my video iPod with pod casts.

On a computer monitor can you: watch local basic cable, play xbox 360, and use it normally?
Question by The Canuckian One: On a computer monitor can you: watch local basic cable, play xbox 360, and use it normally?
I've been doing some research on if it's possible to do all these things on a computer screen. I have shaw high speed cable internet, and I don't mind switching a cable here and there.
I think the answer is an external tv tuner, however I don't know if my xbox 360 will connect to it, and play well enough. Also, i don't know if a slingbox is better. I have 5.1 surround sound speakers and i want to be able to use those while playing xbox 360.
Hopefully this makes sense, and someone can list the things i need, and if it's at all possible.

Q&A: Widescreen (16:9) programming burned on dvd in 4:3. How can I ‘stretch’ the 4:3 picture to 16:9 on a computer?
Question by Brent: Widescreen (16:9) programming burned on dvd in 4:3. How can I 'stretch' the 4:3 picture to 16:9 on a computer?
No problems on a tv...just change the aspect ratio. Slingbox can do it, but I can't figure out how to get it to stretch on any pc dvd player application (windows media player, divx, etc). Help!
Again. I'm looking for a PLAYER. The dvd's are already made.
