i d like to know if i buy a slingbox will i be able to access my cable tv through the broadband with quality and letting other people in my house watch a differient channel ???

Quality is suppose to be very good, however other people in your house could not watch a different channel on that same TV, if they have another TV though, they would be able to watch something else seperatly

nope just tv to computer. it works for being able to watch your tv while you are gone thru the internet. you still have to have cable or something. it allows you to view what you would if you had a tv. great for military if you go someplace and have internet but are away from home. or jobs that send you on tdy and the hotel you stay at only has aselect amount of channels or so you ca watch you cable and not some other places cable. being that a lot of times the channels are different.
why would you need to steam the other way. use your computer for that. you can hook up a computer to a tv monitor and watch that way. again though the slingbox is not for that purpose. it is so you can watch your own cable that you are paying for at home were ever you are at as long as you have a computer and internet

yeah, go to iTunes and search for slingplayer, it costs however, but it's worth it. the app works on WiFi and 3g, the quality is superb on WiFi but somewhat meager on 3g but it is watchable over 3g but not a better experience than over WiFi. the slingbox pro HD is very superb, it's the latest and great from sling media, it delivers great video and audio, it's great for viewing on your iPhone and especially better on your mac. hope this helps, i'm a avid user of slingbox, i have an iPhone 3g and it runs excellent, so im pretty sure it's great on the iPhone 4.the link to slingplayer mobile for iphone is in my source.

Sling Media is investigating reports of Slingbox PROs receiving either no signal or an error screen from your HD video source through the Slingbox HD Connect A/V input.
In most cases, we are finding that the set top box is limiting the functionality of the component out ports when the HDMI port is in use. But we are still trying to identify which set-top box and TV combinations are problematic.
You can work around the issue by using the component pass-through function of the Slingbox HD Connect to your HDTV. To do this, connect your set-top box to your Slingbox HD Connect via component cables. And then attach component cables from the Slingbox HD Connect to your HDTV.

First off, you do not even have to connect the slingbox to the TV. The Slingbox Pro HD has a built in tuner where you can just connect the slingbox to a coaxial cable jack. So if there is a coaxial cable TV jack near your router, it's best to place it there. On the flip side, you will only get HD channels that are local. Where I live, CBS is channel 4, so 4-1 will be the HD channel. In order to get cable channels in HD, you will need to connect it to your digital cable or satellite box. You can also use the splitter that it comes with to connect it to both the cable/satellite box and directly to the wall jack so that when you want to watch a premium channel you can do so, but you'll have to watch the same channel as the local TV viewer is watching. When you want to watch a regular cable channel from 0-99, you can do so using the Tuner part. And you can get HD using the tuner if you just want local channels like watching football on weekends or golf on the weekends.
