You connect it to your TV, Satellite, Cable, etc. And it will stream your TV over the internet. So when you're away, you can watch your TV channels anywhere in the world as long as you have broadband internet connection.

A slingbox is awesome. Basicly, you plug it into your home network/internet connection (has to be broadband) and to your cable/satelite TV service and/or TiVo. This allows you to access YOUR TiVo and TV service from any laptop/PC that has an internet connection.
So lets say you are on a trip, and your favorite TV show will be on and you don’t want to miss it. You have two options: 1) you could watch it on your laptop, or 2) you could remotely program your TiVo to record the show and watch it on your laptop later, or when you return from your trip.
