I just set up a similar configuration to what you're asking about. I have the Pace DC550D and a Slingbox 500 and indeed, the two pace configs did not work. I read somewhere that Pace purchased their settop box design from Motorola so I tried a couple of Motorola remotes and found that the Motorola DCT6200 seems to work fine with the Pace box. So far, I haven't found any features that don't work, but I just got my system setup today. If I find anything wrong, I'll update this post.
